A refugee is anyone who had crossed an international border to escape war or conflict, according to the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). There are roughly 42 million refugees worldwide. Every minute, 8 people have to leave their homes and everything behind to survive war and conflict. Refugees have to leave their crops and animals behind, where they'll be destroyed in the fighting. Pakistan has over 1.6 million registered Afghan refugees. It is the largest population ever in the world. The UNHCR has returned almost 3.8 million of those refugees back to Afghanistan.
